About us

We have focused on the technical progress especially on printing since 1978.
We decorate on an unglazed plate with cobalt blue and put clear glaze on it before baking.
It is a traditional technique.
We do our best to meet your wide range of needs.
We can dye a beautiful contrast with blue and white with indigos and a light and soft color by using all techniques we obtained.
It is attractive that Mino-Yaki is familiar to life.
We aim for a leading company making Mino-Yaki including family use,
business use and products for overseas with modern design and good quality.

STEP
Kneading

Kneading clay. Using an automatic clay kneading machine, knead the clay to ensure uniformity, with careful attention to moisture content and hardness.

STEP
Forming

Forming. Shape the pottery using a fully automatic forming machine. This process supports a variety of shapes, making it suitable for mass production.

STEP
First firing

First firing. After thorough drying, fire the pottery at approximately 900°C to give it strength.

STEP
Decorating

Applying designs. Designs are applied to both the interior and exterior of the bisque-fired pottery using a pad printing machine. The rotary pad enables beautiful decoration even on curved surfaces. Lines and edging are finished by skilled artisans through handwork. By combining the strengths of both machinery and human craftsmanship, we achieve exceptional decorative quality.

STEP
Glazing

Applying glaze. Apply a glaze that covers the pottery surface to enhance durability, color, gloss, and texture. We accommodate both machine-applied and hand-applied glazing.

STEP
Main Firing

Main firing. Each glazed piece is carefully placed into an engoro (protective case) and undergoes the main firing at a high temperature of approximately 1300°C.

STEP
Removing from Kiln

Removing from kiln. After firing, the pottery is removed from the engoro (protective cases) using a machine.

STEP
Quality Control

Inspection and finishing. All items taken out of the kiln have their bases smoothed (hama-suri process), and each piece is inspected for warping, cracks, and any misalignment in the decoration.
